Doing the heavy lifting for forklift standards

The scheduled review of forklift unit standards is about to get underway, and we want to hear from interested parties!

We will be reviewing the following Level 3 unit standards:

10851 – Operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift)

10852 – Operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift) fitted with attachment

18409 – Use a forklift mounted safely platform in the workplace

18496 – Demonstrate knowledge and stills for driving a forklift on a road for endorsement F.

The review of these unit standards will inform the development of new skill standards (where it is suitable to do so). This is happening across the system as unit standards are phased out in favour of skill standards. We will also be looking to develop new skill standards for any gaps that might be identified, so make sure you have your say. By working with industry to ensure that unit and skill standards are fit for purpose, we can make sure vocational education learners can hit the ground running (or driving!) as soon as they are on the job.

We aim to start this review in mid-March, so if you are interested in participating, please get in touch with [email protected] or [email protected] to register your interest. We’d love to hear from you!
