New Governance Associate sought for Hanga-Aro-Rau Council February 16th, 2023 An exciting opportunity to join the Hanga-Aro-Rau Council and grow your governance skillset is now available. Apply to join us as a Governance Associate. This is a development role where you will gain invaluable experience and knowledge from being part of a governance board, and working alongside the skilled members of our Council. You will actively participate in discussions and attend meetings where your contributions will be valued and respected. A Governance Associate does not have governance responsibilities or voting rights like full Council members. The successful applicant will be compensated with a fully paid director’s training course facilitated by the Institute of Directors and valued at approximately $11,000. The expected time commitment is a maximum equivalent of one and a half days per month, including attendance at Council hui. This Governance Associate role is for an initial one-year, with a view to increasing the governance pipeline to give a continued strong voice for our disabled, Pacific communities. Applications are encouraged from anywhere within Aotearoa, and all travel costs to attend Council hui will also be covered. Our Council particularly welcomes candidates who have lived experience with disability and are of Pacific ethnicity.
