Ross Fothergill (Ngāti Tūmatauenga) is an Industry Manager, based in Te Matau-a-Māui, Hawke’s Bay, holding the portfolio for the engineering sectors. Ross has an extensive training and education background, spending a combined total of 28 years in the NZ Army, where he trained as a firefighter. After leaving the army, Ross then spent 7 years with Fire and Emergency NZ, again in a role that revolved around training, predominately that of volunteers, leading a training team of 9 dedicated trainers across the Te Upoko-o-te-ika-a-Māui rohe (lower North Island). In his most recent role, Ross was the National Training Advisor for Silver Fern Farms, for Te Ika-a-Māui (the North Island).
Outside of work, Ross enjoys getting out on his motorbike and spending time with his family whenever he can, specially his five grandies.
