Our Lumana’i o Tangata Moana Pacific People’s Workforce Development Plan, which outlines our clear vision to build a stronger Pacific workforce with better opportunities now and in the future, had its official launch at Parliament on Tuesday 24 September 2024.
This plan is the roadmap that will underpin our actions in the future, as we partner with Pacific communities, our industries, and businesses to support Pacific workforce development, career advancement, cultural understanding, and industry-community partnerships.

On Tuesday 24 September, we officially launched Lumana’i o Tangata Moana Hanga-Aro-Rau Pacific People’s Workforce Development Action Plan at Parliament.
It was an evening of magical success and heartwarming messages all around. We were strongly sponsored by MP Rima Nakhle, the National Party Member for Takanini, and supported by her colleagues and opposition Members across Parliament.
We also had a strong presence from our industry, Pacific communities and those within vocational education settings who came to witness a memorable milestone for Hanga-Aro-Rau.

They are committed to increasing our partnership with Pacific communities, industries, workers, providers, and learners to maximize education, career opportunities, and business productivity.
Guided by Lumana’i o Tangata Moana, the team ensures Hanga-Aro-Rau remains a strong, informed, and reliable source of support for the Pacific workforce, fostering positive outcomes for New Zealand’s economy.
