The Industry Standards tīma at Hanga-Aro-Rau have been hard at work developing the process for the upcoming mechanical engineering standard review.

This review will look at approximately 249 standards divided among seven technical advisory groups (TAGs) that will focus on reviewing standards specific to the different sectors within the industry.

We are seeking expressions of interest from industry members for the following TAGs:

• General Engineering, Fitting, and Machining
• Metal forming
• Tool making
• Fabrication strands (light, heavy, and steel)
• Focus group for Levels 5 and 6
• Maintenance.

Interested members from the above TAGs will form a common group to review the remaining unit standards.

This review is the largest Hanga-Aro-Rau has undertaken to date and requires a strong industry voice to ensure that we are meeting the industry’s needs, current and future.
