Industry leaders in engineering and manufacturing – we need your expertise!

Through our Qualification Advisory Group, made up of industry subject matter experts, you’ve told us that you would like a micro-credential to recognise the unique mix of skills and knowledge required to supply your industry with quality, qualified graduates.

The industry has advised that a micro-credential is necessary to support the sector in addressing some of its key concerns, such as attracting, retaining, and training staff to operate CNC equipment and recognising the different skills required in this sector.

As a result of this feedback, we are proposing a Mechanical Engineering CNC Operator (Micro-Credential) (Level 3) and we want to know what you think.

The aim of this Mechanical Engineering CNC Operator (Micro-Credential) is to provide the engineering and manufacturing industry with a product that will ensure a bespoke career pathway is available for those new or established in the profession.

We are now seeking feedback and interest from industry and stakeholders to ensure this micro-credential qualification will meet the needs of the engineering and manufacturing workforce, and we welcome experts to share their thoughts. Because what matters to industry matters to us!

Please provide your feedback through the survey or [email protected] if you have any questions.

The survey will close on Wednesday, 26 June 2024 at 5 pm.

The Hanga-Aro-Rau CNC Advisory Group will consider and incorporate all relevant feedback into the qualification before making the NZQA submission.
