Consent to assess is granted by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA). It allows education organisations to assess and award credit for unit or achievement standards listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards (DAS). Information on the consent to assess process can be found on the NZQA website.
As part of the consent to assess application process, providers must supply a letter of support from the relevant Workforce Development Council (WDC) confirming that the provider meets industry and assessment requirements set out in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR) documents.
CMRs apply to all unit standards that relate to an industry sector or sectors and provide the criteria providers must comply with before they can assess against unit standards in the scope of the CMR. They also outline the moderation process that organisations with consent to assess agree to engage in.
To apply to Hanga-Aro-Rau for support for consent to assess, complete the application form and email to [email protected]. Applications for a letter of support for consent to assess applications will be processes within 20 working days. There is no charge for an application for support for consent to assess from Hanga-Aro-Rau.
Please note that NZQA makes the final decision to grant consent to assess. To maintain consent to assess, providers must continue to meet the requirements of the CMR.
