We’re seeking expressions of interest now for a new Industry Stakeholder Group, a major part of the method to lead our transformation kaupapa.

• Do you have governance experience and/or knowledge?

We’re seeking expressions of interest now for a new Industry Stakeholder Group, a major part of the method to lead our transformation kaupapa.

Mandated in our Order in Council, this essential rōpū will be responsible for all future appointments to the Hanga-Aro-Rau Council and provide them with advice and feedback on the organisation’s strategic direction and performance. They will also be tasked with providing advice and information to the Council from an industry perspective on matters arising from the performance of its functions.

Members of the group must represent a broad range and diversity of views across the industries Hanga-Aro-Rau serves. We are the WDC for manufacturing, processing, engineering, extractives and drilling, transport, postal, and warehousing.

A passion for seeing transformative change in vocational education and a commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi are also a must.

In addition, the industry stakeholder group must appoint an independent chairperson who must have sufficient knowledge, skill, or experience in te ao Māori (including te reo Māori and mātauranga Māori).

The time commitment involved for all members and the chairperson will be determined by the group itself, with at least one meeting per year set aside to discuss the strategic direction.
