Announcing our Workforce Development Plans August 18th, 2025 The team at Hanga-Aro-Rau are proud to share our updated Workforce Development Plans (WDPs) for 2025, which outline actions for industries we will take through to 31 December 2025, as well as key sector insights and qualification pathways. Forecasts show the manufacturing, engineering, and logistics sectors must fill more than 157,000 jobs over the next five years, to meet industry’s needs and ensure continued productivity. As part of the commitment to deliver for our industries and the vocational education system, these WDPs identify workforce trends, barriers and opportunities – aimed at supporting a sustainable workforce with the capabilities and skills required to meet current and future challenges. On top of specific sector insights, there are common challenges resonating across all manufacturing, engineering, and logistics sectors. A Cross-Sector Action Plan, formed with mahi done alongside our industry stakeholders, is featured on each WDP. This update also features qualification pathways documents – essential tools to help those employers looking at pathways for their staff, or career seekers looking to either upskill or begin a new career in learning the pathways to achieve success in these sectors. The WDPs and Qualification Pathways underscore our commitment to strengthening industry connections and driving productivity gains.
