Hanga-Aro-Rau invites industry representatives to apply to take part in forming eight new National Industry Advisory Groups (NIAGs).

These eight NIAGs will be sector-specific and occupy a unique position supporting Hanga-Aro-Rau operations and guiding our priorities. Each NIAG would be responsible for validating workstreams and testing the thinking of new concepts and initiatives for their respective industries.

The NIAGs will cover the following sectors:

• General Manufacturing
• Engineering
• Food and Beverage (including bakery, butchery, and meat processing)
• Commercial Road Transport
• Extractives and Energy
• Ports
• Automotive Engineering
• Marine.

Group members would be expected to provide a specialist perspective of their sector’s current and future workforce needs and help influence how Hanga-Aro-Rau better supports their sector.

Draft Terms of Reference have been developed which cover all NIAGs, these terms of reference will help you learn more about the purpose and make-up of the groups, their roles and responsibilities, and how they align with our duties. In addition, those who successfully secure a NIAG role will be asked to commit to a code of conduct, to ensure professional and cordial relations within the groups.

All interested parties with the relevant skills, experience, and passion can apply to be part of the NIAGs via our online form.

Due to the severe rain and flooding in the North Island, we have extended the deadline for applications to be received to Friday 17 February 2023. They will then undergo an internal review process. Applicants can expect to hear back in late February 2023.
