Supply Chain and Distribution industry representatives are warmly invited to apply to join a new National Industry Advisory Group (NIAG) for this sector, a joint venture with Ringa Hora WDC.

Hanga-Aro-Rau Workforce Development Council represents the manufacturing, engineering, and logistics industries. With our colleagues at Ringa Hora WDC, who represent the services industries, we jointly serve the supply chain and distribution sectors in Aotearoa.

Together, we warmly invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested industry representatives to form our new Supply Chain and Distribution National Industry Advisory Group (NIAG).

The Supply Chain and Distribution NIAG will hold a unique position supporting Hanga-Aro-Rau and Ringa Hora operations and guiding our priorities. It will be sector-specific and will validate workstreams, testing the thinking of new concepts and initiatives for the supply chain industry and respective sectors.

NIAG members would be expected to provide a specialist perspective of their sector’s current and future workforce needs and influence how Hanga-Aro-Rau and Ringa Hora will better support this sector.

The Supply Chain and Distribution National Industry Advisory Group will cover the following sectors:

• warehousing and storage
• customs and freight support services
• postal and courier services
• third and fourth party logistics.

Terms of Reference have been developed. Here you will learn more about the purpose and make-up of the groups, their roles and responsibilities, and how they align with our duties, as outlined in our Order in Council. In addition, those who successfully secure a NIAG role will be asked to commit to a code of conduct to ensure professional and cordial relations within the groups.

Applications close on Friday 22 September 2023 and will then undergo an internal review. Applicants can expect to hear back by mid-October 2023.

The formation of the Supply Chain and Distribution NIAG is in direct response to industry need and follows the successful formation by Hanga-Aro-Rau of eight other sector specific NIAGs.
